day 3

today quiet uneventful,

Breakfast: SAME AS YESTERDAY

I did not mind it either, I got so held up in my day to day activity I did not even think about it.

Lunch: boiled egg, carrots and tomatoes

I sub the tomatoes, I was not paying that game. I can't even stand the texture so had asparagus instead, much better sub, loved the carrots - refreshing really - done with the eggs now PLEASE

Dinner: chicken and green salad

same as yesterday really, except yesterday I did not have salad though so that was great.

Today was pretty bland and far as my meals for concerned - tomorrow should be better.

DAY 2 of the journey

well well well, I live another day.

Breakfast: Black coffee with a breadroll

I actually did not mind it, bread roll was more than welcome. I love coffee........"shocker".......and the breadroll was welcome carbs, barely any, but carbs non the less.

Lunch: steak/chicken, salad and a fruit

I chose to have steak again even though I had it yesterday, but because the evening options are chicken or ham and I HATE ham - I would rather eat steak again and have chicken in the evening. had kiwi as a fruit, may fav, I actually love this lunch

Diner: chicken/ham

HAM, blarrrrrrr, CHICKEN yeah!!!!!!!!!! and I braai'd .........is that how you spell it? oh well, braai is South African and sounds ok to me - I braai'd the chicken and it was amazing. but this actually raises concerts on the amount of nutrients I gained on this meal, it was just protein, which is great but lacks other essential nutrients. I am not hungry now but feel they will come a point where I will be starved and not be able to eat anything until dinner of lunch or whatever...........

Second concern is that with just three meals a day, how is that increasing my metabolism, I mean as far as I have learnt, having about 6 small meals a day - healthy of course - will health boost your metabolism and I guess I am struggling to rap my head around how this diet will do that.

Alas........hehehe.........I will see it through because I don't think I will hate the results and have a plan on continuing after the diet without gaining all the weight back, so I will continue.

I can't help but worry about tomorrow's plan of Tomatoes, I hate them more that ham, I think I will substitute them for asparagus - yep - I have to

lets put the west german diet to the test

PUTTING THE WEST GERMAN DIET TO THE TEST

OK, I have been going to the gym religiously now for over a year, and it have paid off somewhat. I have only done minor adjustments to my diet (i.e. reduced the amount of sugar in my coffee, whole wheat pasta etc.) nothing major though so any weight I have lost is because of the Gym.

Here is the problem, I am not going to the gym enough anymore because of work and school and I have been trying to loose 1 kg for over a month now and I think I have plateaued.

I am now looking at this differently, I need to do something I am extremely bad in, GO ON A DIET...........I mean the horror!

I am yet to stick to a diet, I was and still am a firm believer in a lifestyle change - I am not good at depriving myself of things I like but now understand that to loose weight I might have to postpone some of those treats and reduce the size significantly. well I am very slow at that change but will get there.........to do that I thought why not do an actually diet and reintroduced my favourite foods thereafter at a much reduced quantity and frequency.

Now I am hoping you asking yourself - why the west German diet, here are my reasons:

   - I have a friend that tried it and I was amazed by the results
   - I love my protein (MEAT and FISH) and will not go on a diet that will take it away
   - I go to the gym at least three times a week and need the protein repair muscles
   - I need something that will control my sugar intake because I am hopeless
   - I am in the health industry and will know if there are red flags that come up
   - I will not let my self starve on this diet - hoping that it is not the case

I am starting this today and need this blog because documenting it puts me in perspective of my goal, hoping to here from anyone on their active experiences too - a community if you will because I don't know anyone in my life that can take this journey with me.

HERE GOES:

DAY 1

Breakfast: Black coffee

I love my coffee, I have been know to call it my drug of choice, but I put sugar in it course if nothing else, sometimes with cream.

I luckily was not that hungry this morning, and I usually am not on most days so a cup of coffee was right up my ally to wake me up and set me up for the day ahead

Lunch: steamed spinach and 2 boiled eggs

One word, HORRIBLE! besides the fact that it does nothing for the pallet,  all you are allowed to put on it is salt, I don't mind the eggs actually, its the flavourless spinach that made me almost gag. I am glad it does not make an appearance later in the week because that might be my reason to quit, HATE it, it was surprisingly filling though and am glad that's over........I am however looking forward to dinner.

Supper: Grilled steak, green Salad and one fruit

Right up my Ally too, love this dinner and I am KING at making steak so, besides lunch today was a good day.

Now the question is how much do I weight, well.........I opt to not share that but rather how much I am loosing, weigh in every 4 days seems appropriate.

LETS DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOTHING BUT HONESTY - WHY NOT RIGHT
