Hi Everyone.......

I profusely apologise for not posting daily updates on the diet, I have gone through massive changes both personally and professionally that I could not carve out time to do any daily update on this blog, so I will do a quick summary of what happened since day 3

I continued on the diet for the required 2 weeks, not because it got better and I enjoyed the meals......far from it, at some points of the day I was more conscious of the fact that I was hungry than I normally would, below is the meal plan as per the diet:

DAY 1:BREAKFAST:Black coffee without sugar or milk/water.Quantity limitless
LUNCH:Two boiled eggs and spinach with a little salt.
SUPER:One big steak (grilled) or 3 small steak baked or boiled chicken.
Green salad - kind of fruit you like.
DAY 2:BREAKFAST:Black coffee without sugar or milk/water and one dry breadroll.
LUNCH:One medium sized steak grilled/chicken.Green salad and any fruit.
SUPER:Cooked ham/chicken in limitless quantities.
DAY 3:BREAKFAST:Same as day two
LUNCH:Two boiled eggs, salad and fresh tomatoes
SUPER:Cooked ham/chicken and green salad
DAY 4:BREAKFAST:Same as day three
LUNCH:One boiled egg, carrots (cooked or raw) and swiss cheese
SUPER:Fresh fruit and natural yogurt
DAY 5:BREAKFAST:Same as day four
LUNCH:Steamed fish and fresh tomatoes
SUPER:One big steak (grilled) and green salad
DAY 6:BREAKFAST:Same as day five
LUNCH:Grilled chicken
SUPER:Two boiled eggs and grated carrots
DAY 7:BREAKFAST:Tea with lemon and no sugar or milk
LUNCH:Grilled steak and fresh fruits
SUPER:Now you can eat whatever you want

NEXT DAY (DAY 8) YOU START OFF WITH THE DIET AS FROM
DAY 1 AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE SECOND
WEEK YOU CAN EAT NORMALLY AGAIN

I, in a nutshell would not recommend it, the calorie intake is less than the minimum 1200 for females firstly, granted I lost 9kg - but I have since on a regular diet of appropriate portions of meals and regular exercise for the past 6 months lost an extraordinary 35kg and reached my goal weight, meaning I was indeed weighing in at the beginning of this journey 102kg

I got on the scale on the 15th of March 2014 and hit the triple digits, I think I died a little bit, blackout or something, because I was stunned - I knew I had picked up weight of course I am not delusional, but not to the point that I was twice the weight I was when I finished High School, I decided there and then that the triple digits on the scale are not for me.

Considering how active I was through high school and University (I was studying sport science..........nough said), I need an awesome jump start that will be encouraging, the German diet was not. I was miserable really, the only reason I saw it through is because that is who I am, I hate starting anything and not finishing it, but I sure will not be doing it again, yes I lost 9kg but I cant help feeling that I stripped by body of essential nutrients and luckily knew what is required to continue loosing weight in a health way.

I attribute my weight loss to exercise, I started exercising 5 times a week, and doing only activities I enjoy, I know enough about myself that if my exercise revolved around the treadmill I might at well move into a crispy cream and surrender to obesity, I HATE RUNNING, so I did not do it, I went to dance classes at the gym, spinning, swimming, elliptical, weight training etc; except running. I did however in the past week started the 5km Nike running training because I want to do a charity run later in the year and I like to win, charity or not. I don't hate running so far - but i don't love it either, don't know if I will, guess the jury is out on that.

In conclusion, I wanted to share my experience with anyone who cared or wanted to know (although not that successfully....:( apologies again!) my journey on a diet that seems to offer a lot of promise but does not seem practical or all that health, I cannot PERSONALLY recommend it - I was willing to put my body through that to see if it works because my curiosity far outweighs my fears and secondly I cannot say whether my metabolism increased due to it or not, all I know for sure is that in those two weeks, I hated my food and felt like I was on some trippy version of a hunger strike.

I would like to hear from anyone who tried it and what their views are, good or bad.

  1. Hi please would you let me know what you ate on Sunday for dinner? Like I'm on day 3 and I have to say I am a bit confused about the "Now you can eat anything you like"
